The Women’s Political Caucus is beginning its endorsement process for the 2009 primary elections.
The King County Chapter offers endorsements to women candidates and recommendations to men. Criteria for endorsement includes support for the principles of the Equal Rights Amendment; demonstrated support of a woman’s right to reproductive freedom; demonstrated support for publicly and privately funded child care; and economic equity for women.
If you are interested in seeking our endorsement and support our issues, please complete Steps 1 and 2
1.Contact Marilyn Gjerde Schulze at 206-783-6325 to schedule an interview. Please call ASAP for best choice of interview times. We will be interviewing the evenings of June 29th, 30th, and July 1st (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) at the law offices of Dorsey & Whitney, 1420 - 5th Avenue (City Centre Building), 34th Floor. Interviews will last approximately 30 minutes and will be scheduled between 6:15 and 8:30 p.m. all evenings.
If you are a previously endorsed incumbent for the position you are currently seeking, you may fill out the shorter questionnaire for PEIs. An interview is not required.
2. Complete the written questionnaire and return it to be received by June 25th. Email your questionnaire to info@wpcnet.org. Please use bring a signed copy of your questionnaire to your interview.
The membership of the King County Chapter will be making decisions regarding endorsements in mid-July. We will notify you of their decisions by email as soon as possible thereafter. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call either of us.
